The injured man is seen falling into boxes of stock as a member of the public approaches him. He is covered in blood and as the video continues, it becomes clear that the store floor has also turned a nightmarish red colour. Other customers inside the store urge the man to sit down. The distressing clip then sees him fall to his hands and knees, seemingly crying. One man can be heard saying: "Stay on the floor mate. The video ends with the injured man slumping to his knees. The attack happened around 4.30am yesterday morning and led to the temporary closure of the 24-hour Mill Street West store as police set up a cordon around the entrance. West Yorkshire Police said they were called to the scene at 4.47am. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A spokesman for Asda praised colleagues for their quick thinking in calling the authorities. Police say a suspect was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault – wounding with intent – and remains in custody. "Enquiries are ongoing in the Mill Street West area to establish the circumstances and there will be an increased policing presence in the area," a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said.
