Chief Minister Pramod Sawant congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home minister Amit Shah for the historic decision of scrapping Article 370 and 35A from the Constitution. Several Legislators have praised the move taken by the government. Sawant also said that members of the Kashmiri community settled in Goa, who deal mostly in handicraft items, "should be happy with the decisions" taken by the Central government.
