George Clooney’s wife Amal and US chat show host Oprah Winfrey are among stars in the running. Amal is 7/1 with bookmaker Coral to take on the royal role, while Oprah, who is teaming up with Harry to make a mental health documentary series, is 12/1. Coral spokesman John Hill said: “Although Amal and Oprah may not be linked to the Family in any way, they have been two of the most popular choices in our betting on the godparents. “The betting suggests Amal is much more likely to be selected over her husband George, with her odds shortening all the time due to the gamble. “Oprah was as big as 5/1 when we first opened betting and is now much shorter to be chosen.” Other famous names include actress Abigail Spencer and tennis player Serena Williams. Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney is the favourite at 1/2. Potential royal godparents include Princess Eugenie at 2/1 and Prince William at 5/2. Mr Hill added: “Meghan is sure to turn to some of her best friends when it comes to choosing godparents for Archie and we believe Jessica Mulroney will be top of the list. “We have seen a lot of money for Princess Eugenie over the last few days who is now more likely to be a godparents than Prince William, according to the betting.” Archie is reportedly being christened at St George’s Chapel in Windsor next month.
