Priced at just £8.49 for the pair, it is difficult to go wrong when buying this set of two combination locks from BeskooHome.
The set arrived packaged in a blister pack with instructions on the inset card for using and resetting the locks.
Each 116x44mm lock weighs in at 139g and is made from water-resistant zinc alloy for the lock assembly and 6mm diameter hardened steel for the 2.5" hasp. Build quality feels fine. The padlock feels tough and robust with a fluid well-oiled feeling for the combination mechanism. This not feel like a lock that is going to break anytime soon. The combination numbers extend across three sides of the lock with the combination unlock code visible on the facing edge. Dialling in the numbers is simple and easy to do and is not the fiddly job that it is some locks, a boon on cold mornings1
Up to 10000 lock code combinations are possible and changing it is again a simple task.
Firstly, open the padlock and keep it set to the unlock code.
Press down firmly on the hasp and turn it anti-clockwise until a distinct click is felt.
Dial-in the new code with the numbers visible on the facing edge of the lock.
Press down on the hasp again and rotate clockwise until a click is felt
That's it, the lock code is now reset.
This is a well made and cleverly designed padlock set and I am very happy to recommend it, particularly so bearing in mind the budget price.
