In the Early era, giants still rule much of the frozen North, the lands of Fomoria, the caves of Agartha, and are a rising power beneath the waves. They dominate the desolate lands of Hinnom, the mercantile power of Berytos, and lead human populations in Mekone, Machaka, and elsewhere.
Over time, these great beings are gradually edged out by humans, but they persist as powers right up to the end of the Late Age.
With so many giant powers, it's unlikely you'll play much MP without running into these mighty creatures, so in this video i try to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the giants, including their defining power as some of the best thugs in the game, as well as their typical weaknesses in the area of troop combat and research. I discuss their ability to survive battlefield wiping and remote attack magic that would reduce humans to ashes, and the ways in which giants can be leveraged to create uncertainty in an opponent's mind.
There are plenty of omissions and generalisations as always, but I hope this spurs some thinking and would love to hear your experiences leveraging giants (or dealing with them) in the Dominions MP arena.
