Powerbeats Pro - A Runner's Long Term Review

Powerbeats Pro - A Runner's Long Term Review I've been running with the Powerbeats Pro all summer since they've been released, and for the most part, they are my favorite earbuds. The sound is great and the fit is great. These satisfy every need I have out of a true wireless earbud to run with. But they're not perfect. In fact, I have two pretty significant pain points.

First, they sometimes don't charge. There's something about the magnetic connection that doesn't always line up right, leaving me with one completely dead earbud, even when the other one and the case are both at 100%. And it's peculiar. Even when I very carefully try to line things up and then verify on my phone that it's charging, it will suddenly stop charging even when there doesn't seem to have been any movement at all.

Second, the auto on doesn't always turn on. Sometimes, I'll pull the earbuds out of the case and head out the door for a run, only to find that one of the earbuds didn't turn on. And as far as I know, the only way to fix that is to go back to the case, put the powerbeats pro back in the case, and then take them out again. And this happens regardless of charge level. It's frustrating.

Overall, these are thing I can live with. But I shouldn't have to for a product at this caliber. Are they still my favorite running earbuds ever? Yes. I just with they didn't have these issues.

disclosures: these are a pair of earbuds that I purchased with my own money. No one from Apple or Beats is paying me to make this video or to use the earbuds. No one will be able to preview any of my footage before it goes up on youtube.
