Ronald Gilbert Baker established Solid Image Photographic Service in August 1974 but with the help of his mother, Bernice Baker, he purchased his first point and shoot film camera in 1964 at the age of 13. He used the following years to develop his skills and improve the quality of his work which included doing photography on his job at the Navy Department and also during his military service in the U.S. Army when he and his twin brother were drafted in 1971. After completing active duty in 1973, Ronald Gilbert Baker decided to return to college where he studied cinematography, film production and Mass Media.
