Controversy recently erupted over the use of a "Diversity Inventory" worksheet by a teacher at Heritage High in Wake County, NC. These are my thoughts about that outrage, what aspects of the use of the worksheet could be concerning, and what many folks are missing about the potential value of using such a tool for personal reflection if used appropriately, as well as the connection between current outrage and previous outrage over diversity in Wake County.
(Note: When citing school demographics, I've used the term "American Indian" rather than Native American, as that is a direct quote from the website used to retrieve the demographics.)
