In addition to having uncomfortable levels of humidity today, we can never forget what happened on this day 18 years ago, when savage terrorists destroyed the Twin Towers and took the lives of over 3,000 innocent people.
Getting back to the weather, while Long Island caught somewhat of a break from the worst heat, temps easily exceeded 90 degrees in New Jersey. A slow moving backdoor cold front will approach and cross the area by tomorrow afternoon, bringing the chance for showers and thunderstorms. Then much more comfortable and fall like air will be with us on Friday.
