The US Army's Second Armored Brigade Combat Team stopped off at Ayrshire Barracks Convoy Support Center in Monchengladbach, Western Germany on Tuesday, before making their final journey to Poland as part of NATO's 'Atlantic Resolve' operation.
Oberstleutnant Stefan Heydt, who assisted with the transfer, praised US-German collaboration as NATO partners: "The co-operation with the allies is great, by now it is the fifth transit/passage, we're happy with it up till now and are looking hopefully forward to the future."
Captain of the Second Armored Brigade Combat Team Jakob Rafidi said his soldiers arrived in Europe after several months of intensive training at Fort Irwin training centre in California and the deployment in Eastern Europe will look "to strengthen the security in the region".
