Many tests that predict ovulation don't actually CONFIRM that ovulation has occurred. for example, OPK's test your urine for a luteinizing hormone (LH) surge; this LH surge is meant to indicate that you should be ovulating soon, but in reality you can have an LH surge -or many LH "surges"- without actually ovulating.
