I purchased a Cisco CIVS-IPC-4500E IP camera that originally cost over $1,200 back in 2012. Let's take a look and see how it compares to modern IP cameras which are quite good, but struggle with over exposure at night time when trying to capture license plate information when brake and backup lights are on lighting up the plate. This video shows what all it took to configure everything on the camera and where it struggles as well as shines as a good License Plate Reader (LPR) camera can easily cost several thousands of dollars. I bought this camera on eBay and I bought the lens on Amazon with my own money.
