October 7th, 2020 Kawasaki announced it would be joining the side by side market with the new 2020 Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000! Why Kawasaki has decided to include this as part of their Teryx line, instead of just creating a new line known as the KRX we don't know. But long name aside, this new 999cc has some interesting specs and has definitely shaken the market with its release. Below are some of the specs for your review in learning more about the KRX 1000.
Width: 68"
Ground Clearance: 14.4"
Shocks: Fox Podium 2.5 LSC
Suspension: Double Wishbone Arms upfront & 4-link trailing arm suspension in the rear
Travel: 19" front | 21" rear
Tires: 31" Maxxis Carnivore tires with 15" Beadlock wheels
So how does the Kawasaki TRX compare to other side by sides in its class? It is still too early for us to tell. It appears that the Kawasaki KRX will excel in certain environments (such as the desert and rock crawling) over some of its competitors. However, it seems like it will fall behind in others as it lacks top-end speed compared to some of the other side by side's. Additionally, its wider width will have an effect on its ability to work in areas where 64" is the max width allowed on many ATV trails.
