October 25, 2019 MSM News President Trump Remarks at Criminal Justice Forum
President Trump spoke about his administration’s criminal justice reform efforts including the bipartisan passage of the First Step Act at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. He called up former prisoners who’ve been helped by the “First Step” law to tell their stories, including Alice Johnson. The president commuted her sentence in 2018 after Kanye and Kim Kardashian West lobbied for her release. Ms. Johnson was sentenced to life for federal charges related to cocaine trafficking.
