Why it’s so hard to stop images of child sex abuse

The number of horrific images of sexual abuse against children being posted on the Internet has exploded in recent years. A New York Times investigation found that technology platforms like Facebook and Google reported some 45 million videos and photos last year — more than double the amount from the year before.
