Tonight on Huntsman... The LIVE Bushcraft Build Series has wrapped up but there is still more to do on the cottage inspired bushcraft build and the area surrounding the bushcraft camp. This round we're feeling the winter rush to get clay out of the creek bank before winter weather hinders the process any ore than it already has as we continue on with our overall goal of creating the all around ultimate bushcraft camp which has long extended into landscaping the forest, transplanting fora, supporting the local wildlife and has even launched a goal of planting 5,000 trees world wide!
The last touched on the shelter itself has come down to the lengthy process of detailing the fireplace and stacking the chimney leaving only the door as the final add on to the build.
We did build the fireplace out of river stone, encasing them in clay and heating them up with only small fires to push out any moisture that might make the stones crack or explode. With the heat in mind we set out to build a heat shield on the shelter before we begin our work on stacking the chimney which will need to be a long and narrow shaft to maximize the drafting that essentially powers the process of heating the build with a fireplace rather than an open pit.
