Finally a full review of my vintage 1970. Bulova Devil Diver. Introduced in 1969. or slightly earlier, this has to be the most original looking dive watch out there.
But it is more than just a pretty face, with a case made by the same company that made Omega Speedmaster cases of the era and a dial made by Singer, a company that made dials for the Rolex Daytona, it oozes quality!
To give it true horological value, Bulova used their own in-house made automatic mechanical movement 11BLACD.
Last year Bulova reissued this model but sadly it is just a Shadow of what this thing is. With a Miyota 8200 series movement and one of the worst logo applications EVER put on a watch, the reissue was clearly done with cost-cutting at mind, while this vintage one feels like they gave their best, which is why this will stay in my collection!!
What can you do, some of us are creating or bursting the Rolex Bubble, while some are playing with other watches 😁
