'A ray of sunshine': Carley McCord's friends, co-workers remember reporter destined for greatness

Louisiana sports reporter Carley McCord was killed in a Lafayette plane crash Saturday on her way to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

McCord, 30, was riding in a private plane with friends to watch LSU play. She was a freelance sports reporter who worked with WDSU, Cox Sports, ESPN, the Saints and Pelicans.

"I'll miss her heart ... She was always concerned about you, never much too concerned about (herself)."
