GreenDesert is going OFF GRID!!! We are transforming two shipping containers into OFF THE GRID She Sheds… for $50,000 each! That means using rainwater, solar panels, composting, growing our own food… we want to get as close to zero waste as we can! So we traveled from Phoenix to central Texas, taking the GreenDesert lifestyle with us and we're documenting the entire process! In this week’s episode, we shopped for windows at Window Depot and bought the wrong ones. The solution caused lots of additional work and a little bit of blood. But we got through it, cut the openings for the windows and doors and installed the windows!
Some of the metal window frames were primed before installation, others weren’t… so that caused some windows to rust… which alerted us to leaks in a few of the windows.
So in our next episode on December 22nd, we’re focusing more on the windows—looking for the best sealant to re-seal them to prevent the leaks. So email us if you have any suggestions, info@thegreendesert.org.
