Follow these steps to remove and replace the motherboard for the HP 340, 348 G7 Notebook PC:
- Before you begin, remove the base enclosure, battery, WLAN module, hard disk drive assembly, fan, card reader board, speakers, and display panel assembly.
- For removal, disconnect the DC-in cable from the connector on the motherboard.
- Using minimal force, lift the locking bar up on the keyboard backlight, touchpad click board, fingerprint reader board ZIF connector and disconnect the keyboard backlight ribbon cable, fingerprint reader board and touchpad click board from the motherboard.
- Remove the plastic battery bracket from the motherboard.
- Remove the three 2 mm P1 Phillips and 3.5 mm P1 Phillips-head screws that locks the motherboard to the top cover.
- Carefully lift the motherboard off the alignment pins and slide it out from under the tabs on the rear edge of the top cover.
- Remove the motherboard.
- Reverse this procedure to install the motherboard.
