Kazakhstan Bek Air plane crashes carrying almost 100 people  killing at least a dozen people TWO babies were among 49 people rescued after a plane carrying 98 people crashed shortly after takeoff in Kazakhstan.

Victims sent out urgent SOS messages via social media after at least 12 people were killed when the Bek Air flight lost altitude and smashed through a concrete fence into a two-storey building.

In a statement, the country's Civil Aviation Committee said that the plane 'lost altitude during takeoff and broke through a concrete fence' before hitting a two-story building.
