Sasquatch, the Abominable Snowman, the Jersey Devil — they all sound like a bunch of baloney until you’re face to face with ’em! Those who believe in urban legends and paranormal folklore get their fair share of eye rolls, and some are admittedly deserved. But the most firmly grounded of us would quake in our boots if the things we chalked up as fantasy turned out to be the real deal.
Point Pleasant, West Virginia, hadn’t experienced much in the vein of the abnormal. As its name suggests, it was a small, quiet community, full of logical people who didn’t dwell on the strange or unsettling. All that changed when a giant winged being swooped down from the heavens and clocked the locals with its glowing red eyes.
