In several districts, particularly in Uttar Pradesh and in Delhi protests that start off peacefully turn into violent clashes between the police and the protesters. Sit-in protests as well as protest marches were held in several parts of the country. Despite these being attended by thousands in cities such as Mewat in Haryana, Purnea in Bihar, Nagpur in Maharashtra; no incident of violence was reported. However the voice of these massive rallies get muffled when the media is busy reporting violent protests. Do anti-social elements hijack the protests and instigate violence or is the police high-handedness provoking people to taking up violence? Ravish Kumar asks on today's Prime Time. (Audio in Hindi)
