The government has given them the green signal to promote them as junior lecturers according to the demand for them. Under current norms, 90 per cent of junior lecturer posts are being replaced by direct recruitment and 10 per cent by promotion to non-teaching staff. However, these rules will be revised and notified by direct recruitment of 50% and 10% for non-teaching employees.

The remaining 40 per cent of posts will be replaced by promotion for school assistants. Those who have passed the post-graduation at least the secondary level will be eligible for this. It is reported that the municipality will soon issue orders. The state government has decided to make every public school with more than 500 students a junior college, said S. Ramakrishna, president of the MTF state. Under the guidelines given to schools under 'Nadu-Today', such schools will be allowed to build classrooms for the creation of a junior college, he said
