I have come to swear by this plug in a to reference my productions. I always have a sound or a vibe I am trying to achieve. Depending on the artist and label you are trying to match the vibe to there will be a differing amount of elements and the way they are mixed. With this technique we are forced to use our ears to make precise decisions in our mix. It allows us to hone into the problems in the mix more easily and cut out guess work. The more you train your ears the better you will get at knowing what is lacking or what is overcompensating in a mix.

I use the REFERENCE plug in along side with the VOXENGO SPAN to help me make precise decisions.

No matter if you make, techno, tech house, house or any genre of music this technique is timeless. You will only improve your skills by referencing.
