Sir David Amess admits he "hated every minute" of the election because he spent so much time in the cold and wet.
He admits it produced a "fantastic result" but warns: "There's no point time-serving, it's now up to the Conservatives to deliver on the manifesto.
"What is the point of being in politics for the sake of it? It's to get things done, and for the last three-and-a-half years we got nothing done.
"We've argued with each other, there's been a horrible atmosphere in this place - it's now down to my colleagues on this side to get on and deliver on the manifesto."
