Why I chose Bernese Mountain Dogs! The good, the bad and the ugly!

Why I chose Bernese Mountain Dogs! The good, the bad and the ugly! I have been asked, "Why Bernese Mountain Dogs?" Here are my reasons why I love the breed and why they may not be good for some people. I share why I like them, what activities I do with them and how to find breeders breeding healthy dogs to work hard to get healthy Berners! I am happy to answer any questions about the breed or how to find responsible preservation breeders doing the right things for the breed!
It's important to research any breed you are interested in adding to your life. All breeds are not created equal and you should meet a few adults before you purchase a puppy. Understand the coat maintenance and upkeep. Poodles, Portuguese Water Dogs, etc. need haircuts and constant maintenance as their hair mats when not brushed daily. Labs, Goldens, Shepherds, Berners shed a lot and require baths and blowouts to get rid of the dead undercoat. All dogs require some amount of grooming!
The puppy I am holding is one I bred, both her parents have their hips, elbows, eyes, heart, DM and vWD health certifications/clearances publicly accessible on Bernergarde.org for any and all to see. You don't have to trust my word, you can VERIFY! Wouldn't it be great if more breeders published health clearances on Bernergarde where you can verify they were done by specialists and you knew for sure the parents were healthy! :) Then puppy buyers would know that the deck is stacked in favor for getting a healthy puppy! Check out your regional breed club to meet responsible preservation breeders.
I'm happy to answer any questions!!!
