The Central Bank of Nigeria last year announced reduction in bank charges and Nigerians have been reacting to the move. In this video, some Nigerians who spoke to our correspondent hailed the action of the apex bank and called it a step in the right direction.
However, they were some who pointed out that just as the CBN reduced bank charges, the Federal Government increased charges in other areas.
A respondent, Dayo Happiness, urged the government to actively seek to relieve the plight of the masses, instead of providing temporary succour.
He said, “It is a step in the right direction, however, Nigerians are expecting government to do more than that. They have done a reduction but there are other tariffs they (government) are going to raise, that people know nothing about.
“If government wants to step into the populace’s problem, they should do so in totality.”
Other respondents also shared their views on the reduction.
