Shaastra 2020: Solar-powered drone capable of 90 day flight-time takes centre stage

Visitors to the Shaastra 2020 defence tech summit held in Chennai, took a keen interest in a solar-powered drone. The surveillance drone is solar-powered and can reportedly fly for 3 months continuously regardless of the weather conditions and relay critical information. It is capable of flying at a 20km altitude and gather intelligence. The drone is being designed to carry a versatile payload including a synthetic aperture radar, and electro-optic and infrared payload that can conduct surveillance penetrating through thick clouds.
