Many of us struggle to find a proper sitting posture, resulting in headaches, neck pain, low back pain, or just a general sense of unease. This video helps to find a neutral sitting posture, instead of just trying to "sit up straight." We all spend so much time sitting, but no one ever teaches us how to do it well, so we end up pushing our ribs up in the front in an attempt to achieve "good posture." This is what I call "reverse slumping" and can be just as harmful, if not more so, than slumping in your chair. A more neutral posture, with a ribcage nicely stacked over a pelvis, allows for proper breathing to occur, it decompresses your spine, and creates a sense of ease in the body and mind.
