Rep. Adam Schiff argued in favor of an amendment that would entitle senators to have a debate over potential witnesses later in the proceedings. It would also ensure any potential witnesses would have to testify live and in person, rather than through taped media. President Donald Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December on two articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
