In this lesson, you will learn how to solve systems of equations that involve quadratic equations by the method of addition and subtraction. In order to solve the system, we must add the quadratic equations together in such a way such that one of the variables cancels after adding. Then, we can solve for the remaining variable and complete the solution.

We are allowed to multiply each of the equations by positive or negative numbers. This may be needed in order to ensure that we can cancel one of the two variables after we add the equations together.
