On eclipse day at Keelakari, fortunately, I happened to saw that wonderful moment and tried a new place called CHELLAKANI THOTHAL KADAI (Halwa) it's 42 years old and is a famous heritage snack house in Keelakari, it's owned by Chellakani, inspired by her aunty she started the business and it's from Malaysia (origin) said by Chellakani, apart from thudhal there are more than 25 varieties of snacks like paniya, ottuma, vaniyam, kala kala, etc are prepared by them and around some houses in Keelakari by locals.
Thothal/Thodhal Halwa: It was delicious with the aroma of coconut milk
Paniya: It's a snack savoring one
Ottuma: It's dry with a mix of ingredients like ghee, egg and coconut milk
The essence of coconut can be felt in all their snacks. Wonderful place to have a good snack. Snacks are homemade and provided by the neighboring household women.
Then I tried a Mohammed Kadai, 50yrs old one nearby CHELLAKANI shop, it was a wonderful experience including his caring gesture. We had 2 dosa, 2 half boil, 2 vadas, 2 parotta which costs around 105 rupees.
