Brooklyn Bridge is in New York city, USA it is on the East river connecting between Manhattan and Brooklyn, It is 1825m long it is a cable stayed suspension bridge. The construction was started in 1869 and was completed in 1883. The Architect was John A Roebling. At that time suspension bridge Engineers did not accept the design model of John A Roebling. People thought it was a failure model. John A Roebling explained his concept to many of his friends but no one seemed to be interested. He told his son Washington about his idea. Both started the project in 1869 in a few months a tragic accident happened at the site John A Roebling died and his son Washington was severely injured he had severe brain damage he could not walk and cannot speak a word.
It is only John A Roebling and his son Washington who knew the technology to built the bridge, So the Government decided to give up the project. Washington who was in the hospital is still pumped up to finish the project he could barely move his finger, he used to write in the hands of his wife and express his thought. When ever his friends came to see him he expressed his wish to construct the bridge, but they were not interested, he instructed his wife and asked to summon all his engineers to start the project. For 13 long years he gave the instruction to his wife through his finger movement and the Engineers constructed the bridge.
We all admire determination and persistence of Washington. We also should draw enthusiasm from this episode.
