The struggle for proper education for a 12-year old girl from Komani in the Eastern Cape is finally over. The girl is attending school for the first time in 2020. Athi Manisi has a speech impediment and a physical disability. Her parents tried for the past six years to place her in a special school. In 2019, SABC News reported that her father quit his job to become her teacher. She now has been placed at Khanyisa Special School in Cala.
