Shoppers have been queuing up to buy surgical masks across Hong Kong in the weeks since the coronavirus that causes Covid-19 was first detected in the city. Mask prices have skyrocketed amid supply shortages that have prompted the government to step up efforts to buy or manufacture them locally. Meanwhile, members of a local theatre group are taking matters into their own hands by turning a rehearsal room into a temporary mask-making factory.
