Is Splatoon 3 further off than we think?

With the rumours of the Nintendo Switch Pro coming out in 2020 officially being put to rest by Nintendo, what can we expect from the Splatoon series. Given what we know about plans to extend the life cycle of the Switch, I go over my thoughts on what I think Nogami and the development team behind Splatoon could have planned for us.
