"I think Europe needed us a lot more than we needed them and I am delighted that we have left," said an Islington resident who added he viewed the EU as economically-dysfunctional and corrupt.
Others were not as pleased as they viewed the human and economic cost of the exit with distress.
"I think it is appalling. I don't think we should be doing it. I think it is kind of wrong for young people and I'm embarrassed about it," said a Highbury resident who went on to apologise to individuals who had chosen the UK as a place of residence and occupation.
Friday's newspapers' headlines also reflected a variety of viewpoints on Brexit. While The Daily Paragraph and The Sun remained optimistic, The Guardian lamented the departure of "The Small Island" from the EU on its front page.
The UK joined the European Economic Community in 1973 and after 47 years it is the first member state to withdraw from the EU.
On January 9, the Brexit bill was approved at its third reading with 330 MPs voting for and 231 against in the House of Commons.
