NSW Education department prepared to enforce 'pandemic plan'

NSW Education department prepared to enforce 'pandemic plan' New South Wales Education Minister Sarah Mitchell says the government has a ‘pandemic plan’ which it is prepared to enforce if the coronavirus crisis deepens.

Ms Mitchell says no students have tested positive to COVID-19 as yet but her department was “literally monitoring it hour by hour, day by day”.

In response to schools in Italy closing their doors due to the coronavirus – which has killed 109 people in the country - the state education minister said “if the pandemic plan comes into force, we do have the mechanisms to be able to do that”.
