Ingredients & Instructions :
🥔 [Glazed Sweet Potato] Mattang
Ingredients:
600g / 3ea / Sweet Potato
45ml / 3T / Corn Syrup
15g / 1T / Sugar
30ml / 2T / Vegetable Oil
30ml / 2T / Water
INSTRUCTIONS :
1/ Peel off the skin and wash sweet potatoes
2/ Cut into bite sized pieces and leave them inside water for at least 15 minutes to get starch out of sweet potatoes pieces
3/ After 15 minutes remove water. Then add about ~50ml of water back into the bowl
4/ Cover the bowl with some plastic wrap, make some holes on top, and cook it in the microwave for five minutes (depends on your microwave, cook about ~70%)
5/ Remove sweet potatoes from the bowl and put on a sieve to remove excess moisture
6/ Heat up the pan, add oil and cook the sweet potatoes. Stir gently so it doesn't break. Once it's cooked put them aside
7/ Throw into a pan some water, sugar and corn syrup. Mix and bring to boil, turn the heat down to ~25%
8/ Add prepared sweet potatoes and coat them thoroughly and it's done! :)
***Tip***
Control the sweetness to your taste by adjusting the amount of sugar & corn syrup.
For decoration, sprinkle some black sesame seeds on top.
***What to ask for when Korean grocery shopping***
- Oligodang / you can use this instead of corn syrup if you want to!
