It’s easy to care about riches and our beauty and togetherness for shallow reasons; for our image with our friends and strangers, on social media, at work, for our dating life, and on. We often want these things to feed our ego and to feel a somewhat hollow comfort. We can want the dressings of extravagance and wealth for its prestige and perceived safety in spite of its impact on others, and in today’s world, we can easily feel encouraged in that. About our host: Rev. Cory Bradford-Watts is an ordained minister with the Swedenborgian Church of North America. He grew up exposed to many religious traditions but was turned off by dogmatic thinking and what he thought were irrational ideas about God. After experiencing a mystical near-death experience, he started to develop a spirituality and a belief in a loving, compassionate Creator. Cory also found himself drawn to the pluralistic Christianity: Swedenborgianism. He is also an active Director on the Board for the Swedenborg Foundation.
