Smoke from wildfires traveled around the world

Smoke from wildfires traveled around the world (14 Jan 2020) NASA says smoke coming off the wildfires in Australia has travelled around the globe and back to skies over eastern Australia.

The agency has been using satellites to track the smoke.

It says the unprecedented conditions combined with historic dryness have also led to an unusually large number of fire-induced thunderstorms.

A NASA report says the smoke has had a dramatic impact on New Zealand, "causing severe air quality issues."
